How we got here
We met in 2019 at a book club neither of us had read the book for. Seven years, one dog and a lot of bad singing later, we’re getting married, and we’d love you there.
Our story, year by year
- 2019
A rainy book club
Elena turned up to a friend’s book club having not read the book. Sam hadn’t either. They spent the evening pretending, then laughing about it over cold pizza.
- 2021
The first big trip
Two weeks, one rental car with a broken radio and a lot of singing. They came home knowing they were in it for the long run.
- 2023
A home and a Biscuit
They moved into a small house by the harbor and adopted Biscuit, a dog with strong opinions about mail carriers.
- 2026
The question
On a windy evening at Lighthouse Point, Sam asked. Elena said yes before the question was finished. Biscuit barked twice, which we’re counting as a blessing.

Sam had planned a speech. The wind had other plans. In the end it was four words, a ring that nearly blew away, and a very loud yes.
